About Us

Orb Instruments is a Spin-off from Université Côte d’Azur. The technology has been developed in the Laboratory of Electronic Antenna and Telecommunication in Sophia Antipolis.

Orb Instruments was founded with the ambition to make high-precision antenna measurement systems more compact, versatile, and affordable. Our core innovation is a near-field 3D spherical scanner capable of characterizing antennas from 400 MHz to 6 GHz. Designed for portability and ease of use, our system brings laboratory-grade performance to environments where traditional anechoic chambers are impractical or prohibitively expensive.

The system enables full 3D radiation pattern reconstruction, gain and efficiency measurement, and polarization characterization. By drastically reducing cost and complexity, it lowers the barrier for research labs, start-ups, and educational institutions to perform professional-grade antenna measurements.
